International Blog Against Racism Week

International Blog Against Racism Week is coming! I consider this idea super nifty and plan to participate. Also, I made icons.

	Crawford and Schuldig don't like racism either. Crawford and Schuldig from Weiss Kreuz. Schuldig is definitely white, but he's a minority in the Japanese-dominated culture that WK is set in. (Race is never mentioned overtly in the series as a whole.) Crawford's American, but his ethnicity is up to some fandom debate. I liked the computer image, and also the ambiguity of the racial roles at play.
	Demon hunters against racism I like Gunn, and the Angel cast, and so.
	What do you see? This was inspired by some of zvi_likes_tv's suggestions, in particular "I don't see race." Them's fighting words, white people! This is a little more subtle a challenge. Sanzo is Chinese, from a Japanese manga, with blond hair and purple eyes. Yeah.
	Hiro Nakamura is sexy, yo. A suggestion of zvi_likes_tv's. Hiro is one of the leads of Heroes, and my favorite by a country mile.
	And so is Foreman. Same text, different character. I do love Foreman, in part because he could so easily be another House and so desperately doesn't want to be.
	Another hottie. zvi_likes_tv again, this time with Gunn from Angel. MmmGunn.
	Fans against racism. zvi_likes_tv inspired this one but the text is mine.
	Kanda. Mmm. Kanda. Base by revenus, text once more by zvi_likes_tv. I almost didn't include this one, but Kanda's one of the rare manga characters who looks pretty Asian. Also, he's hot. And he's a Japanese character set in a multicultural universe set primarily in Europe. Also he is ungodly hot. Let it never be said that I'm not shallow sometimes, 'cause that would be a dirty lie.
	Mohinder. When I first went to post this, it had no picture and so I thought LJ had screwed up. Insert meta commentary of your choice about Mohinder here.
	Patriot is sexy too! Another zvi_likes_tv text. Patriot is from DC's YA-ish comic Young Avengers, which, for the record, is pretty damn good.
	Fans against racism. Same as the first, only for white fans. I wanted them to be as similar as possible.
	Heroes against racism. By request. I couldn't get the whole cast in a 100 x 100 icon, so I did three versions.
	Heroes against racism. Version 2.
	Heroes against racism. Version 3.
	Sylar eats racist brains. This one was fun.

Edited to add more icons. Credit is nice but not required but please credit

zvi_likes_tv and

revenus where necessary.

I've never heard of this before, and it is pretty interesting.

I'm not really sure if I'd having something to say that's vital enough to blog about, but it's something to consider.

One a more trivial note, actually a Black character is my favorite live-action dude right now -- Gus from Psych. One of the few fictional characters I'd actually want to date: He's cute, sweet, smart, and he's a science fiction geek. OK, he's too young for me, but that's not my point.

I haven't watched Burn Notice, how is that?

I love Psych. It's very funny and both the main characters and the secondary ones are very cool. I'm especially fond of Corbin Bernsen as Shawn's father -- I can't believe I remember him all those years ago on L.A. Law, and his mother on a soap opera even before that.

(And there's lots of Shawn/Lassiter slash and a little Shawn/Gus if that floats your boat.)

It's good! It's got Bruce Campbell and one of the women from Cagney & Lacey, and the lead is very good-- perfect deadpan and very sympathetic.

I should try Psych, clearly! I love Corbin Bernsen.

I missed two or three episodes THROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN and then I was all cranky and behind so I decided to wait for the dvd. I FORGOT JUST HOW LONG A SEASON ACTUALLY LASTS. I think episode 11 is the last one I actually saw, woes.

This was the first time. The only other show I watch on any kind of regular basis (House) is so episodic that it doesn't really matter if you skip, so I muddle through when I miss eps. But for Heroes, everything is so story-based that I didn't want to go in missing chunks of info. Maybe a poor decision, I don't know.

Gunn is awesome. (Humph... what did I do with my 'tragic hero'!Gunn icon?) So gacking that, will credit.
